Microsoft has announced that it is working on a new standard and memory structure for AI systems to work more effectively with each other. Accordingly, the company will support an open-source protocol to enable different AI platforms to work together.
Microsoft will enable AI systems to work together
Microsoft’s chief technology officer Kevin Scott stated that “interoperability” is at the center of the new strategy. In this context, the company is adopting the open-source standard called Model Context Protocol (MCP) developed by Google-backed Anthropic.
MCP enables meaningful data exchange between different AI systems. Thanks to this protocol, AIs from different manufacturers will be able to communicate with each other within a common framework. The developed structure enables the establishment of a communication network between AIs.
Another innovation announced by Microsoft was related to the memory system. The company is working on a new technique that will allow AI to better remember past interactions with users.
This technique is based on systems extracting short and meaningful pieces of information from each user interaction. Thus, AIs will base their responses entirely on past conversations. This will allow for more personalized results.
These developments announced by Microsoft have revealed that a structure where different AI systems can work in an integrated manner is possible. So what do you think about this? Which AI tools do you use in your daily life? You can share your views with us in the comments section below.
